Freshmen Take Revenge on Andover

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Displaying an impenetrable defense against the fast Blue forward line, the Freshman soccer team scored a victory by a margin of a single point at Andover yesterday afternoon, avenging their 3-0 defeat by the schoolboys two weeks ago.

The only score came near the beginning of the first period, after a prolonged Crimson attack. Crooks, the clever center forward, took a pass from Gans, and shot the ball into the net from the 20-yard line.

In the second half the Freshman defense was tested to the utmost. The Andover forwards kept the ball in Crimson territory almost continuously, but the splendid work of the backs and of Woodward at goal held them scoreless. At the very close of the game the Blue received a free kick, but Tseng, who scored for Andover, in the first game, failed to repeat his performance, and the opportunity to tie the score was lost.
