At 4 o'clock this afternoon there will be a Freshman Interdormitory cross-country race in which all members of the first year class, whether or not they are members of the hamer squad, are eligible to compete.
The course will be about one and three-quarters miles long, and will wind around outside of the Soldiers Field enclosure. The domitory which the winning team represents will be credited with five points in the competition for the fall athletic trophy. The captains of the three teams are: Gove, A. C. Coolidge Jr., Smith, J. W. Teele, Standish, H. L. Smyth Jr.
The University squad will begin its preparation for the Harvard-Dartmouth-Maine triangular meet here next Friday, when it jogs over the river course this afternoon. So far, the Crimson men have kept their slate clean, but it is probable that both Dartmouth and Maine will present stiffer opposition than did Middlebury or Bowdoin. Captain Coburn, who has been out of both races because of an injured leg, will probably be able to run this week.
