Second Round of Union Tournament Sees Little Brilliant Tennis-Bondi Drops One Set to Allen

No until tomorrow will the Union tennis tournament matches reach a stage where the seeded players begin to meet real opposition. Little of note occurred in yesterday's matches, although Bondi dropped his first set to Allen. this was a surprise in as much as Bondi is the player, seeded second, next to Whitbeck.

The doubles matches begin this afternoon, but only two will be played.

Singles matches to be played today on the Jarvis Courts follows:

At 1.30, Debevoise vs. Upjohn; at 2, Salter vs. Sears; at 3, Rounds vs. Scully; at 3.30, Stralem vs. Dwight; Gallary vs. winner of Salter Sears match; Whitbeck vs. Pinkham; Bandler vs. Barber; Boone vs. Morton; Solomon vs. Hopkins; Webster vs. Davis.

Doubles Scheduled for Today

Doubles matches to be played today on the Jarvis Courts follow:

At 3.15 Sears and Noyes vs. Schwartz and Bloomberg.

AT 3.30 Upjohn and Roots vs. Tratford and Glessner.
