FORESTRY SCHOOL DEAN ELECTED YALE'S PROVOST

New Haven, October 16.--Henry Solon Graves, a graduate of Yale in the class of 1892, today was elected provost of Yale University, to succeed Wilbur L. Cross. Mr. Graves is dean of the School of Forestry and will continue to occupy this position. He was formerly chief of the United State Forestry Service.

Mr. Graves will be second only to President Angell in the ranking of University officials. To form a link between the University and Yale cooperation on educational policy, is the purpose of his position.
