1926 FOOTBALL MEN AT WORK ON FUNDAMENTALS

133 Report to Coach Snow for Third Practice--Division Into Two Squads Will Come Next Week--Will Have Special End Coach

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The 1926 football squad reached a new high total yesterday when 133 players reported to Coach Snow for the third practice of the season. This exceeds last year's squad by seven men.

The Freshman players were divided up into four groups: backs, quarterbacks, ends, and linesmen. They were sent through the usual preliminary drill of tossing medicine balls, starting, falling on the ball, and "duck waddling". No attempt has yet been made to grade the players and the division into first and second squads will not come until next week.

An additional coach to supervise the ends will be added to the Freshman coaching staff as soon as a suitable man can be secured. Several ends from recent University elevens are now being considered and the choice will be announced within a few days.
