Basing their work upon the original costume plates, which are the result of careful study of rare old books and fashion plates, designed by several members of the University, Van Horne and Company of Philadelphia, costumers to the Yale and Princeton dramatic clubs, and to some of the best productions of the professional theatre, are executing the colorful costumes for the men in the Dramatic Club's forthcoming production of Sacha Guiltry's "Beranger". For the three leading feminine roles, the services of Miss G. W. Ripley, who makes costumes for many of the foremost companies in the country--among them Pavlowa's and Ted Shawn's ballets, and the Green which Village Follies--have been obtained, while the accomplishment of the costumes for the other ladies in the play has been placed in the more than competent hands of Miss Briggs, a special Boston costumer. By the exactness of the styles for the three periods of the play, the real spirit, charm, and piquancy of both the action of the play and the life of the times portrayed are given the fullest possible expression. Furthermore, in beauty and delicacy of coloring, the costumes combine with the settings to form a truly striking and harmonious composition. This special attention to the costuming is in keeping with the unusual efforts-being made in the other departments of this production, to make it one of the most picturesque and interesting in the Dramatic Club's history.
Tickets for all performances are now on public sale at Leavitt and Peirce's and the Coop in Cambridge, and at Herrick's and the Copley Theatre in Boston. There is a special undergraduate ticket price of $1.65 for the Cambridge performances, after both of which there will be dancing, with music by a special orchestra.
