COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF NEW DEVELOPMENTS INCREASES MEMBERSHIP

WILL PLAN FUTURE PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT OF UNIVERSITY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The committee appointed last year by the Corporation to draw up a general plan for the future physical development of the University has been enlarged by the addition to its membership of President Lowell, Mr. Charles F. Adams '88, Treasurer of the University, Mr. George Wigglesworth '74, President of the Board of Overseers, and Mr. Henry Vincent Hubbard '97, Professor of Landscape Architecture.

Mr. Charles A. Coolidge '81, and Mr. Guy Lowell '92, Boston architects appointed to the committee last year, will continue as members. The committee is engaged in drawing up a general plan for the future growth of the University, deciding tentatively where to place such new dormitories and other buildings as it may be possible to build in the future and aiming to produce eventually a more unified architectural effect than has been attained in the past.

Preliminary sketches suggesting various possible solutions of the problem were submitted to the Board of Overseers at its last meeting and were discussed with the committee by the Board.
