Brown of Columbia won the former contest with Gouin of the Navy second and Hawley of Dartmouth third.
The foils matches, Around which the chief inters, are to be held this afternoon and evening. Of the eight colleges entered in this tournament, the Navy is expected to be the University's strongest oppenents, yet the University team should have the edge in today's events since they have defeated the strong Columbia team as well as Yale, Pennsylvania, and Dartmouth. The well-balanced team strength coupled with the individual brilliancy of Captain Boyce may carry them to a victory over the Navy, to whom, the season's records point as the probable winner.
