The first of a series of public lectures by Professor Jacques Cavalier, who is spending two months at the University and M. I. T. as French exchange professor in engineering, will be held this afternoon at 5 o'clock in Room 213, at Pierce Hall.
The lecture, which will be open to members of the University and will be of special interest to students of physics, metallurgy, and chemistry, will be on "Les Alliages Mealliques". It will be given in French, but an English synopsis will be distributed at the meeting.
Professor Cavalier's visit to this country is the result of arrangements made by an American committee for exchange professorships in engineering. He will spend a month or so at each of seven important universities. Professor A. E. Kennelly '06 of the University and M. I. T. is the American professor now lecturing in France under the auspices of the committee.
