At a meeting of the 1925 Finance Committee yesterday afternoon, J. H. Child '25, secretary-treasurer of the class and chairman ex-officio of the committee, outlined the plans for the drive which will determine the chairman and sub-chairmen of the committee.
This drive, which will last one week, will aim to collect $4000 for the class fund, a sum which is is hoped will meet all expenses incurred by the class during its four years in college. In order to raise this amount it will be necessary for every member of the class to contribute $5.00, but as this is an impossibility for some men, those who can give more will be asked to do so.
The members of the Finance Committee will solicit pledges and contributions during the week. The man having the largest amount next Friday will be appointed chairman of the committee and will automatically become a member of the Freshman Executive Committee. The four men collecting the next largest amounts will receive sub-chairmanships. The competitions for the editorial, business, photographic, and arts and cuts departments of the Red Book will begin with a general meeting of all candidates at 8 o'clock Monday evening in Smith Halls Common Room. At this time the work of the competitions will be outlined in full by T. D. Blake 2d '24, Editor-in-Chief, and by the chairmen of the various departments. The actual work will start on Tuesday. All members of the Freshman class are eligible for positions on the board and no previous experience is necessary. At the end of the competitions, the Red Book Committee will elect approximately 40 men to the board.
