"INFORMATION, PLEASE"

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Every year a large number of men come to Harvard with only vague ideas as to what sort of a place the University is, and with no friends, who do know, to tell them. The problem of becoming acquainted with the institution itself is, for such men, at best difficult. In the past they have had to go for information to two official publications, one a very condensed description of the University, and the other the cumbersome general catalogue. The first is altogether too meagre, and in the second what information can be found is buried in a mass of facts irrelevant to the immediate needs of the newcomer.

This unfortunate situation, however, has been remedied by the publication of a new official catalogue. It is a book of over one hundred pages, made attractive by the use of good typography, and interesting photographs. Still more important is the text, which contains a concise, straightforward exposition of admission requirements, extra-curriculum activities, and a description of the College and each of the graduate schools. It presents in an entertaining manner the information which every first-year man, whether Freshman or transfer, and every prospective student, should have.
