Burke Boyce '22, captain of the University fencing team, was the individual winner in the invitation round-robin tournament held at the Hemenway Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. Twenty men, graduate fencers as well as members of the University, M. I. T., and B. A. A. squads, competed in the tournament; 12 entries competing with foils and eight with duelling swords. Five of the six finalists were members of the University squad.
In the foils tournament the contestants were divided into two groups from each of which two finalists were selected. As a result of matches between the finalists, Boyce was declared the winner, W. R. Brewster '22 received second place, E. H. Lane '24 third, and J. S. Barss '22 fourth. In the duelling swords tournament, Captain Taylor of M. I. T. and J. S. Barss '22 tied for first place.
