As a result of the matches played yesterday, D. McK. Key '22 advanced to the semi-final round of the Massachusetts State Squash Racquets tournament, and is now the University's only representative. Malcolm Bradlee '22; captain of the University team, succumbed to the superior playing of C. C. Peabody, the Union Boat Club leader.
Peabody although favored to win, showed unexpected strength, staging a surprise by winning in straight games. His remarkable steadiness, and his persistency in fighting every point, gave him an unquestioned advantage over the Crimson player. The game was hard-fought, however, but Bradlee had to recognize Peabody as his superior for the fourth time this season. The final score was 15-12, 15-14, 15-12.
Key did not have much difficulty with Elliot Church of Newton Centre, defeating him by the score of 15-10, 15-9, 15-11. His next opponent will be Harold Plimpton of the Boston Athletic Association whom Myles P. Baker '22 defeated in straight games earlier in the season.
