TO GIVE LECTURES ON NEAR EAST

Professor Gautier, Exchange Professor, to Offer Series

Professor E. F. Gautier of the University of Algiers, who is serving as French exchange professor at the University is to give seven public lectures in French on Wednesday afternoons during March and the early part of April.

The lectures will cover the subject of the Near East, and will be illustrated with lantern slides brought to this country by Professor Gautier. The lectures will all be held in the Lecture Room of the Fogg Art Museum on Wednesday afternoons at 4.30 o'clock, and will be open to the public.

The dates and subjects follow:

March 1.--What is the Near East?

March 8.--The Near East, native country of all religions.

March 15.--The Near East and Islam.

March 12.--The historic place of the Arabs in the Near East.

March 29.--Customs and daily life of the Near East.

April 5.--The family in the Near East.

April 12.--The state and nation in the Near East.
