ALUMNI OFFICERS TO BE ELECTED IN NEW WAY

The first forum of the Harvard Alumni Association held since 1916 took place yesterday afternoon in the Faculty Room at University Hall, and resulted in a number of changes in the constitution of the Association. Seventy men were present, including delegates from Harvard Clubs of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, and several other cities and representatives of a large number of classes of graduates.

The most important change decided upon provides for holding the election of directors of the Alumni Association, this year and in succeeding years, according to the alternative Australian ballot and postal ballot system which goes into effect this year for the election of Overseers of the University. This will make it possible for graduates in any part of the country to vote for directors, as well as for Overseers, without being present at Cambridge on Commencement Day.

Another change adds to the list of directors a representative of the Harvard Club of Boston. Heretofore the directors of the Association, in addition to the nine who hold their office by election, have included one representative from the Faculty, one from the New England Federation of Harvard Clubs, one from the Harvard Club of New York, and two from the Associated Harvard Clubs, as well as the Secretary of the Association.

It was voted that the executive committee of the Association might hereafter amend the constitution without calling a forum such as was held today.
