STATISTICS GIVEN ON 1926 WINTER SPORTS

Total of 697 Freshmen Signed Up-Squash and Rowing Most, Popular Exercise-Basketball and Boxing Follows Respectively

A total of 697 Freshmen have signed up for winter exercise, it was announced yesterday by the Department of Physical Education.

Squash proves the most popular sport, 150 men taking their exercise in this form. Indoor rowing, with 105 men participating, is second in popularity, while basketball and boxing follow with 87 and 85 men, respectively. There has been a decided falling off in handball, 18 men reporting this year as against 58 in 1921. The gym class with 26 members has doubled its last year's enrollment, and a special class of 68 men for corrective work has been formed.
