LECK WINS JAVELIN COMPETITION

Sullivan and Park Take Second and Third Places

S. W. Leck 4E.S. placed first in a javelin competition yesterday afternoon at Soldiers Field with a throw of 164 feet 5 inches, coming within 3 feet 9 inches of the University record made last spring by R. M. C. Greenidge 3E.S.

Second place was taken by J. J. Sullivan '25 with a heave of 144 feet 5 inches, and third by H. B. Park '23 with 142 feet 2 inches. The winner will receive a silver medal from the H. A. A. and the holders of second and third place a bronze medal. Leck's distance was considered unusually good for such cold weather.
