The Graduate Schools Society of Phillips Brooks House, through its secretary, Mr. K. I. Brown 4G., has announced a series of events for the remainder of the first half-year.
The first of these is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 21, at 8 o'clock in the Parlor of Phillips Brooks House, when Professor J. L. Lowes of the English Department will speak on "Transmutation of Research". An opportunity for general discussion will be given after the talk.
The remainder of the schedule includes various forms of entertainment. On November 23 the Graduate Schools Society, in conjunction with the Radcliffe Graduate Society, will hold an informal dance at 8.15 o'clock in Agassiz House. On December 5 Professor L. R. Harlow of the International College of Smyrna will give an illustrated talk on "Conditions today in the Near East", and on December 13, Phillips Brooks' Birthday, the Association has arranged for a meeting to be held at 7.30 o'clock in Peabody Hall. Bishop C. L. Slattery '91 and Professor Francis Peabody will speak on their associations with Phillips Brooks.
The Graduate Schools Society will hold its informal Christmas dance at the Harvard Union, and further details of this will be announced later.
Bishop L. H. Roots of Hankow, China, will address a combined meeting of the Graduate Schools Society and the Harvard Mission some time in December, but this date has not yet been definitely arranged. Following the Christmas vacation, on January 16, Professor A. P. Fitch of Amherst College will address the Graduate Students on the subject "Has Religion a Place in the Student's Life?"
In addition to these meetings, the Discussion Group under the leadership of Professor R. C. Cabot will meet on alternate Tuesdays at 4.30 o'clock.
