RECORD NUMBER START IN SQUASH TOURNAMENT

Fifty-Two Entrants Will Begin Play To- day-First Round Must be Finished by Friday--Medal for Winner--To Pick Squad Tomorrow

Play in the annual fall squash racquets tournament will begin today when the record number of 52 men will start the first round. In accordance with the policy newly adopted at the University, eight men will be seeded in the draw, which is now posted at the Squash courts. The players who have been seeded are E. M. Hinkle '23, captain of the University team, D. M. Gilmore 3L., captain of the Lincoln's Inn team, F. W. Crocker 2L., W. P. Dixon '24, J. H. Douglas 2L., Carroll Harrington '24, A. L. Smith '25, and Channing Wakefield 2L. In the first rounds of the tournament, matches will be two out of three games, but in the semi-finals and finals, the best three out of five games will take the match. All matches in the first round are expected to be played off by Friday night, November 3, or the players will be defaulted. A silver medal will be awarded to the winner.

The last of the test matches, from which Coach Henry Cowles will pick the squad tomorrow, will be played off today.
