FRESHMEN HAVE 751 MEN ENROLLED IN ATHLETICS

Increase Over 668 Men Registered Last Fall--Crew Proves Most Popular Activity With Tennis Next--55 Men in Equitation

The Department of Physical Education announced yesterday that 751 Freshmen had thus far enrolled in some athletic activity in connection with the exercise requirement. This number is considerably in advance of the 668 men registered in the early part of the fall season last year. The policy of omitting baseball has been continued this fall, a sport which in 1920 was used by nearly 40 men to satisfy physical requirements.

In popularity crew is far in advance with 235 men on the river in regular crews or singles. Tennis is second with 160 men registered, while football is third with 97 in the first and Dormitory squads.

In the Military Science Department 55 are taking equitation. There are 42 men prescribed to take swimming.
