The interclass tennis matches will begin next week, according to an announcement made yesterday by the management. All men who intend to keep up their tennis training this winter are expected to enter these matches, since the indoor squad which practices at the Longwood indoor courts all winter will be picked on the basis of their result.
The number of men who will be on this squad is as yet uncertain, but an unusually large number of relatively in-experienced men will be picked to replace the loss in veterans on the tennis team.
Three class captains have been chosen--G. C: Guild '23, C. W. Farnham '24, and W. W. Ingraham '25. There will also be a 1926 team, although no Freshmen will practice at Longwood this winter.
Blue books are now posted at Leavitt and Pierce's for men to sign who wish to enter, and on Saturday, October 21, the ratings of the teams will be posted there. Any many may challenge the player, who stands immediately above him on the list, if he is dissatisfied with his ranking. Trials will be held next Monday and Tuesday, October 23 and 24, and the interclass matches will be played during the rest of the week.
