MORE CANDIDATES WANTED FOR DISCUS AND JAVELIN

Winter track is still drawing candidates, twelve more men having signed up yesterday afternoon. The number of candidates is nearly evenly divided between the University and 1925 squads, and a large number of inexperienced men are reporting regularly in addition to many veterans from last year's team.

The board track by the Locker Building has been completed and was used exclusively in the practice. Owing to the fact that the season is still in its early stages, Coach Bingham has not yet started intensive training, and light work-outs were the only form of practice allowed yesterday. However, with the formation of the various squads tomorrow, prolonged sessions will probably be in order next week in preparation for the B. A. A. meet on February 4.

More men are needed for the javelin and discus throws. Candidates are practicing on a specially constructed platform near the board track, and are under the personal supervision of Mr. Jakko Mikkola, former coach of the Finnish Olympic team.
