TRIANGULAR MEET TO TAKE PLACE ON FEBRUARY 25

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Winter track practice for both University and 1925 men will start this afternoon. Freshman candidates are to report at 2.45 and those for the University team at 3 o'clock in the Locker Building. Coach W. J. Bingham '16 will have charge of the track candidates, while the field event men are to practice in the cage and will be under the direction of Coach E. L. Farrell. Candidates for the two new field events, the javelin and discus throws, will be instructed by Mr. Jakko Mikkola, former coach of the Finnish Olympic team, and will practice on a specially constructed platform near the board track. The new track, which has been under construction during the fall, is completed and will be available for use this afternoon. After the first practice the men will be divided into several squads and the work arranged so that the groups may report at different times during the afternoon.

Intensive training for the B. A. A. meet at the Boston Arena on February 4 will begin immediately. In this meet the University will be represented by a two-mile relay team to run against Yale and a one-mile combination to compete with M. I. T., while a one-mile Freshman team will race against Yale. In addition some runners and field men will probably take part in special events.

Triangular Meet Scheduled

The second big objective of the season is the triangular meet with Dartmouth and Cornell on February 25 at Mechanics Hall, Boston. The final meet will be the Indoor Intercollegiates to be held in New York on March 11. The events are to be decided by the Executive Committee of the Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association of America.

Several meets are being arranged for the 1925 track team. The Freshmen will probably come up against Huntington and Worcester Academy, in addition to entering a relay team and sprinters in the triangular meet with Dartmouth and Cornell, and, according to present plans, will bring their season to a close in a triangular meet with the two Boston high school teams that prove to be the strongest.
