1924 WING FROM ENGLISH HIGH

Substitutes Win 5-0 but 1924 Faces Hard Hard Task Against Andover

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman tennis team with only substitutes playing defeated the Lynn English High school team on Divinity Courts by a score of 5-0. The school boys did not succeed in forcing any of the Freshmen to three sets, and in the singles only three fames went against the 1924 subs. In the second doubles match a little more competition was offered, but never were the Freshmen at all hard-pushed.

The Freshman team will have a much harder task on its hands when it meets the Andover players this afternoon at Andover. Number one man for Andover is Watson the junior champion of Pennsylvania who has been playing under the tutelage of W. L. Tilden, present world's champion. K. S. Pfaffman is slated to oppose him, while Captain Haviland, playing 3 on the school team, will be opposed by Parke Cummings. C. W. Farnham Jr. who has been a close rival to Pfaffman for his position at number one, will meet Lord, an Andover veteran of last year.
