MEETING FOR FRESHMEN TONIGHT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Freshmen intending to enter the ten weeks new and photographic competitions of the Crimson, and others interested will meet tonight in the Standish Hall Common Room at 7 o'clock. At this meeting, which Sophomore news candidates are also urged to attend, Mr. Frederick L. Allen '12 will speak on the advantage of undergraduate journalistic training and the heads of the two departments will outline the work required of competitors. Men selected from the news competition will be eligible for the position of managing editor in their Junior year, and president in their Senior year, while the position of Photographic chairman will be open to successful competitors in that department. Work in this competition, which will end just before the final examinations, will start tomorrow night when all candidates must report at the Crimson Building at 7 o'clock. Both the news and photographic competitions are run on a point basis, but election to the board will be determined not only on points, but on a candidate's general all around ability and usefulness to the paper.
