In a one-sided contest Saturday afternoon on the Freshman court, the 1924 five overwhelmed the Reading High School quintet, 83-14. At no time did the schoolboys have a chance to win, and the Freshmen scored at will, dashing into the basket from all sides and completely out-playing the light Reading guards. The game was singularly free from fouling, as the Freshman forwards played all around the Reading defense. Captain Gordon was the high scorer, as he made seventeen baskets from the floor and three goals from fouls. He was closely followed by D. H. Stevens with sixteen baskets from scrimmage.
The summary: Score, Freshmen 88, Reading High School 14. Baskets from floor, Gordon 17, Stevens 16, Sipp 6, MacDonald 2. Michellint 2, Ham, Gehrke Free throws, Hook 4, Gordon 3, Referee, Coady.
