To four out of the five men on the regular basketball team the winter has been anything but mild. The injuries sustained thus far by the basketball squad have been proportionate to those of the football team. Three of the regular players have been hindered in practice by more or less serious injuries, and even Captain Tolbert, who weathered the football season successfully, has been unable to practice for nearly three weeks because of a broken bone.
Today's game with Dartmouth is the season's most important match for the University team. On the outcome depends much of the future of basketball at Harvard, and, handicap or no handicap the team knows that "results" are the basis on which rests the judgement, just or unjust, of a sport.
If the five who start the game today can surmount their handicap and bring home a victory they will set a new high mark for the year in making good under difficulties. Such a victory should raise the prestige of basketball to the head of winter minor sports.
