Playing in a driving blizzard, the University soccer team was defeated by the Cornell eleven at Ithaca last Saturday. Three Cornell tallies came in the first period, while Corliss Lamont '24, playing inside left for the University, registered the only goal for the Crimson in the same half.
Several inches of snow which covered the field prevented much fast work or dribbling, but the Cornellians managed to keep their feet with far better success than the University players, and used a passing game effectively.
The summary: Score, Cornell 7, Harvard 1. Goals, Elli 5, Lamont 1, Cook 1, Righter 1. Time, two 45-minute periods.
