Professor G. P. Baker '87, head of the 47 Workshop and play-writing courses associated with it, yesterday announced the date of its first production and the names of the three plays to be given. The plays are: "The Mountains", "The Other One", and "The Crows Nest", They will be given in Agassiz Theatre, Radcliffe College, October 21 and 22.

"The Mountains", is a one-act play by T. C. Wolfe 2G., who formerly attended North Carolina University. The scene is laid in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, and the theme of the play is the oppressive influence of the mountains on the minds of the natives, Professor Baker characterizes the play as realism. There are seven people in the cast.

"The Other One" Professor Baker calls an imaginative sketch with a cast of three toughs, "Red", "The Connecticut kid" and "The Other One", It was written by Arthur Ketchum Sp., and the scene design selected is that of M. Oensiager '23, who last year designed scenes for the Dramatic Club productions "The Blind" by Maurice Maeterlinck, and "Wurzeifiummery".

"The Crows Nest" was written by W. F. Manley 2G., and the scene is laid in the crow's nest of an ocean liner. The set was designed last year by R. L. Wayne 2G., stage manager of the 47 Workshop this year, who taught design in Middlebury College this summer. Last year he designed the scenes in "A Punch for Judy" which was given by the Workshop.

Professor Baker plans that these plays shall go into rehearsal this afternoon, and the casts will be picked some time today. It has not been decided whether or not been or the 47 Workshop will take a trip this year.
