MEETING FOR SOCIAL SERVICE MEN AT 7.30

Mr. F. L. Bullard, Editor of the Boston Herald to Speak-Prof. Ford and two Undergraduates Will Describe Work Done by P. B. H.

At a meeting of all men of the University interested in the Social Service work of the Phillips Brooks House at 7.30 this evening, Mr.F. Lauriston Bullard, Editor of the Boston Herald, will speak on "Some Men Who Served", while Professor James Ford '05 of the Social Ethics Department, C. K. Cummings Jr. '23 and J. J. Lee '24 will describe social service work from other points of view. Cards announcing the meeting were sent to those men who signified on their registration cards willingness to undertake the work, but any others who wish to take part in the work are urged to attend. Experience is unnecessary, and but a few hours a week will be required of men enlisting. At the end of the meeting R. P. Bullard '24, secretary of the Social Service Committee of the Phillips Brooks House Association will give a detailed explanation of the social service work of the University.

The leading of boys clubs and boy scouts troops, the giving of entertainments and speaking on topics of interest at community and settlement houses, assisting with the probation work of the Cambridge Juvenile Court, and teaching of classes in subjects varying from grammar school to college difficulty are included in the activities of the workers.
