COACH FISHER HOLDS MEN DOWN TO LIGHT DUMMY SCRIMMAGE

The stiff workouts of the last few days gave way to a light practice for the University gridiron men yesterday. Another gruelling practice, like the three and a half hour session of Wednesday might easily result in last minute injuries which could seriously handicap the team in its battle with Georgia tomorrow. For this reason, Coach Fisher has postponed further practice games until next week.

P. D. Haughton '99 was on hand yesterday to help with the signal drill and dummy scrimmage as was L. H. Leary '05, head coach in the first half of the 1916 season. The latter devoted himself mainly to the work of the ends. This is a vital point with the coaching staff at present as Crocker is still out with an injury and will probably be unable to start tomorrow. To fill his place both Janin and Fitts have been tried this week and it is probable that the latter will get first call for tomorrow's contest.

Tierney was still on the side lines yesterday but will probably be able to start against Georgia.

Hartley Comes Up From Seconds

One man came up from the Seconds yesterday. J. M. Hartley '23, an end, has been doing so well during the last few days that Coach Fisher decided to give him a chance on the first squad. During his first year at college, Hartley played on the Freshman team last year he was on the University squad until after the Holy Cross game, and this year he was under Coach Fisher until the double-header with Middlebury and Boston University.

At signal practice yesterday, Team A lined up as follows: Fitts and Macomber, ends; Hobson and Kane, tackles; Brown and Grew, guards; Bradford, center; Buell, quarterback; Owens, Jenkins and Rouillard, backs.

The Georgia team will arrive in Boston today. This afternoon they will hold secret practice in the Stadium before the regular University work-out.
