In two fifteen-minute halves Saturday afternoon, the Second hockey team defeated the Independent Tired Business Men seven, composed of University graduates, by the score of 3-0, on the Soldiers Field rink. The playing during the first half was fast, but the softer ice of the second slowed the game and gave it a tendency to roughness. Bishop's goal-guarding blocked repeated attempts of the Second teamers from scoring more often, while W. D. Burden '21 and J. H. Dempsey '22 were a strong pair in the Scrubs' defense.
P. G. Hovey '22 was responsible for the lone goal in the first half. Team-work was difficult because of the condition of the ice, but in the second period L. A. Hallock '21 and Burden enabled F. T. Pratt '22 to score. The final goal came when C. C. Adams '21, receiving a pass from Hallock, shot the puck home.
