TRACK MEN BEGIN WINTER TRAINING ON SOLDIERS FIELD

Winter track practice at Soldiers Field will begin today at 2.30 and continue until March. Every man who reports regularly will be retained on the squad throughout the season and given an opportunity to compete in meets.; Under the supervision of W. J. Bingham '16, Coach "Pooch" Donovan will take change of the runners and Coach Eddie Farrell will instruct the field event men.

On February 5 the University will be represented in a number of events at the B. A. A. games in the Boston Arena. The two University relay teams and the Freshman relay team will race.

As Captain D. F. O'Connell '21 A. W. Douglass '21 and J. A. McCarty '22, who were on the long distance team last year are eligible again, Coach Donovan expects to develop a winning, team this winter. One of the members of the 1923 Freshman team will probably be chosen as the fourth man.

Freshman track manager candidates will report at the H. A. A. at 1.05 Wednesday. As a result of this competition, which will last through the winter season, a manager and an assistant manager will be chosen who will take change of Freshman track in the spring.
