COACH CONLEY SUSPENDS BOXING DURING MID-YEARS

Work in Preparation for Annual Boxing Tournament Begins on Feb. 14

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Work in the various boxing classes at the Hemenway Gymnasium under the direction of Coach Conley has been suspended, not to be resumed until the Monday after the mid-year examinations, when the real works of the year will begin. At that time, preparation for the biggest event of the year in University boxing--the University championships, will start. Entries for the various classes will have to be in by the middle of March, or before for the first rounds, which will come in the last week of March; the final rounds will be held on the last days of the month. As was the case last year, there will be contests in the 115, 125, 135, 145, 160, and 175-pound classes and in the heavyweight division.

The plan of holding University championships rather than outside meets is in accordance with the decision of the Faculty not to authorize athletic contests with other universities in boxing.
