AMHERST FIVE MEETS UNIVERSITY TONIGHT

No regular practice was held yesterday by the basketball squad, in view of the strenuous game with Tufts Wednesday evening. Coach Wachter believed a rest before meeting Amherst this evening and Williams tomorrow evening more beneficial than a workout.

Eight players, Coach Wachter and Manager Parker will make the trip this afternoon to Amherst. They leave Cambridge at 1.30 o'clock, reaching Amherst at 5.12.

Amherst has played only one game this winter in which Hamilton was the victor 24-17, and since this game served chiefly to try out the raw material, it is impossible to make predictions as to the outcome of the game. Captain Palmer is the sole veteran in the squad. He is an aggressive defensive player. Nail, a Freshman recruit, has some more or less latent ability. No consistent team-play has yet been developed by the team.

Coach Wachter plans to start the same men that he did in the Tufts game. They have developed into a fast, spirited, versatile combination whose team-play is steadily improving.

After the game the team will go to Northampton, remaining overnight at the Draper Hotel. Leaving there in the late morning, they will reach Williamstown at 5.30 o'clock. After dinner at the Williams Inn, they will match their skill against the Purple five.
