The intercollegiate regatta previously scheduled to be rowed at Poughkeepsie on the Hudson River on July 1 has been shifted to Ithaca, where it will be held on Cayuga Lake on June 19. The refusal of the West Side railroad to provide an observation train for the race is chiefly responsible for the change. Furthermore the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania has declined to permit its crews to row so late as July 1. Owing to the tidal conditions on the Hudson River, the next date earlier than July 1 which would be favorable for a regatta will be June 14. This, however, would interfere with the final examination period at Cornell. On Cayuga lake the crews will row over a two-mile rather than a three-mile course as originally planned for the races.
