JONES, DEBATING COUNCIL HEAD

Tentative Schedule for 1920 Includes Trip to Middle West

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At the final meeting of the Debating Council this year, officers were chosen for 1920-21. B. F. Jones '22 was elected president, with G. P. Bickford '22 as vice-president. C. W. Phelps Unc. was chosen secretary.

The most important matter of business presented was the announcement that henceforth the choice of coach for the debating team will be in the hands of the Advisory Committee. The tentative schedule for next year was also discussed. It includes the usual triangular contests of the Freshman and University teams with Yale and Princeton, a spring trip to the Middle West when debates with Cleveland, Western Reserve, Valparaiso, Washington University at St. Louis and the University of Wisconsin will be held. A return trip during the Christmas recess to the University of Washington at Seattle is now being taken up between the two debate managers, the University of Washington having taken the first step.
