Captain Goetz Much Pleased With Showing Made by Riders

Last night the University Artillery Unit held its last drill in preparation for its part in the Commemoration Exercises on Memorial Day.

The men assigned to the battery, which is to fire the salute to General Pershing, put in two hours of gun drill at the Freshman gymnasium. Four gun sections have been formed, which will be under the command of Captain Daniels, who is assisting Captain Goetz.

The mounted escort of 40 men, under Captain Goetz, rode over the route of the Memorial Day procession, in order to familiarize themselves with the procedure. Captain Goetz expressed himself as very much pleased with the work of the Unit on its first ride through the streets in formation.
