In the next to last contest of the season, arranged and played yesterday with the M. I. T. yearlings, the Freshman tennis team was victorious by the score of 4 matches to 3. Since the Technologists recently conquered the Yale Freshmen, the match augurs well for the coming Eli contest tomorrow at New Haven.

After losing three of the five singles matches played, the Freshmen regained their lead and the supremacy by winning both doubles. The first contest of the afternoon, between Captain M. Duane of the Crimson team and R. D. Carver, was the feature of the afternoon, Duane conquering his opponent in two fast sets, 6-4, 11-9.

The summary follows:

Singles--Duane (H.) defeated Carver (M. I. T.), 6-4, 11-9; J. R. Elliot (M. I. T.) defeated J. D. Farnham (H.), 6-4, 3-6, 6-3; LeR. Frost (H.), defeated L. L. Tremaine (M. I. T.), 6-2, 6-0; M. B.
