PICK MEN FOR EPIC DEBATE

HOLBROOK, KUHNS AND DENNIS FOR UNIVERSITY AGAINST WASHINGTON.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The three debaters for the University in the coming East vs. West debate on Friday, May 21, have been selected. They are W. S. Holbrook '21, B. H. Kuhns '22, and L. Dennis, Unc. Holbrook, who is the leader of the trio, is on the University team for his third year, and has starred in the debates held this year with Dartmouth, Princeton and Syracuse. This is the first year that Kuhns has been on the team, but in the debates with Dartmouth, Syracuse and Princeton he has shown up well and promises to offer stiff opposition to the westerners. Dennis was on the University team in 1916 and has been out since then, having been a first lieutenant during the war. He has also been one of the University's strong debaters in the contests with Dartmouth and Princeton.

The western team, however, is bringing a strong opposition for the debate. Wendell Black, the leader, is a three-letter man, as he has been on the University team for three years and is now a senior in the School of Law. Toomey also has won his insignia three times, and was second in the trials which were held to pick the team. He is also a third-year Law man. Earl Nelson, the third of the trio, is a two-letter man and a Junior in the Law School, and has shown up very well in the forensic contests held this year.
