"The Settlement of Strikes" will be the subject of an address which William C. Redfield, until recently Secretary of Commerce under President Wilson, will deliver at Phillips Brooks House at 8 o'clock tonight. This meeting, which is open to all members of the University, will be held under the auspices of the Graduate Schools Society.
Besides holding the office of Secretary of Commerce, Mr. Redfield has been a member of Congress from the fifth New York District, and has been connected with prominent manufacturing firms. Entering business immediately after graduating from high school, he achieved rapid success, holding offices in one firm after another. For one term he was elected to the position of president of the American Manufacturers' Export Union. Secretary Redfield is also known as the author of the "New Industrial Day."
