By the resignation of President Hadley, Yale University loses a man who has done much toward making Yale the institution that it is today. Born and educated among traditions of classical culture, President Hadley has maintained those ideals while liberalizing education with a broad vision and clear insight into modern problems. An economic theorist by profession his keen judgment has been repeatedly sought and utilized by practical business men.
Yale is to be congratulated upon, Dr. Hadley's decision to remain with the Department of Political Economy. In this field we hope that he has before him many more years of service, valuable alike to his own university and the whole world of education.
