Interclass Tennis Under Way

It was something of a surprise yesterday when M. Duane '23 defeated C. P. Holmes '22, 6-2, 6-4, in the first match of the Interclass Tournament finals. Duane played in top form sweeping Holmes before him with a terrific driving game. Holmes showed at his best, but was unable to cope with the furious rallies of his opponent, whose exhibition today practically clinches his position on next spring's team. The only other match played was J. D. Chase '22 vs. J. M. Cabot '23, which the former took easily, 6-3, 6-3. The other matches, including the Union singles finals were postponed on account of darkness early this afternoon.
