Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
With only one regular of last year's team returning, and with only a few experienced men available, the University fencing team needs a great many more candidates to insure as successful a season as last year's.
As a nucleus around which to form a team, there will be S. H. Ordway '21, a regular who distinguished himself in every meet last year, W. R. Brewster '22, who was on the team until he contracted influenza, and J. S. Barss '22, a substitute on the 1920 team. But besides this, two letter men, H. B. Cutter '21 and R. P. Rogers '21, both of whom have had experience on a University team, will be available. B. Boyce '22, and J. K. Watson '23, are also very promising men and have shown a great deal of skill and knowledge in practice.
Last year's coach, Monsieur J. L. Danquy of the New York Salle d'Armes, has been again engaged to direct the work of the team. He will be assisted by E. R. Gay '19, and W. H. Russell, 2S.A., both former University captains, and the latter a member of the Olympic fencing team. The training will continue to be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4 o'clock, and all men interested in the sport should report at this time.
Schedule Not Yet Completed
As yet the schedule is incomplete, but will probably start the first Saturday in February and end on the last Saturday in March. Meets are being arranged with M. I. T., Bowdoin, Dartmouth at Dartmouth, Columbia, Pennsylvania, teams from the B. A. A., and with Yale at New Haven. It is also probable that the team will meet West Point at West Point, and the New York Military Academy. The University fencers will take part in the Intercollegiates, and in the Junior Team Competition held by the Amateur Fencers' League of America.
Last year the team had a very successful season, defeating Yale both in the dual meet and in the Intercollegiates. Besides taking second place in the Intercollegiates, being defeated only by the crack Annapolis team, the team went through the season with only one defeat, and this at the hands of Columbia. Among the colleges which fell before the University fencers were Bowdoin, M. I. T., Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, New York Military Academy, Yale and Columbia in the Intercollegiates. Not counting the scores of the Intercollegiates, the team rolled up 51 points to its opponents' 89.
