Eighty-two students joined the University Tennis Club at its first meeting held Wednesday evening. L. A. de Turenne '21, captain of the University tennis team, was unanimously elected president. He is also president of the United States Intercollegiate Tennis Association and his record of twenty-two straight victories last season stamps him as the leading collegiate tennis player in the East. J. B. Fenno '21 was elected vice-president, and Morris Duane '23, last year's Freshman captain, was made secretary. The Club plans to hold bi-weekly dinners in the Union where members will hear short talks on tennis experiences by former Harvard tennis men of national reputation such as R. N. Williams 2nd '16, N. W. Niles '10, Dick Hart '16 and many others. Membership is open to all members of the University.
