COACH WACHTER CALLS BASKETBALL PRACTICE

MORE MANAGERS NEEDED

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Basketball at the University gets into full swing this afternoon when candidates report to Coach Wachter at the Hemenway Gymnasium at three o'clock for the first formal workout of the season. For the first week or two, practice will consist mainly in the drill of the fundamentals of the game. No scrimmages will be held for some time and at present passing work and shooting will be stressed.

At present there is no way of telling what kind of material there is at hand but Coach Wachter hopes to be able to produce a combination that will be able to make a formidable showing for a first-year team. Team work is to be the main cog in the Crimson machine and it often requires more than a year to turn out a smooth working quintet.

It is expected that several football men will report after they have had a week's rest.

More second assistant manager candidates are needed and men reporting this afternoon will be in no way handicapped in the competition.
