This afternoon at 2 o'clock on Soldiers Field the Freshman football eleven will meet the undefeated Yale 1924 eleven which by its decisive 17 to 3 victory over the Princeton cubs,, and by its uniformly successful season, has shown itself to be a scoring machine of great power.

In its first game of the season, the Yale eleven defeated Hotchkiss 14 to 0. This game was characterized by fumbles and poor teamwork. In the next game, however, with Exeter, the Blue yearlings showed their true form by overwhelming their opponents by the score of 21 to 0. On the next Saturday they played Andover and met a snag. Only after hard fighting, and brilliant play by the yearling backs, were they able to defeat the preparatory school team, 14 to 10. On the next two successive Saturdays, the Princeton 1924 and Dean Academy elevens fell before the Eli cubs by the scores of 17 to 3 and 40 to 0 respectively.

Although this record shows the entire Yale team to be a hard-fighting and powerful eleven, the work of O'Hearn at quarterback, Neidlinger at halfback, and Captain Blair at left tackle, stands out with especial brilliance.

Yearlings Handicapped

The University yearlings, on the other hand, have not had quite so successful a season, but if all of its men were in the game, the yearlings would be able to give their opponents a hard fight and probably to defeat them. However, they have been greatly weakened at the last minute by the loss of such stars as Gehrke and Jenkins in the backfield, and C. Hubbard and Donovan in the line.
