SECONDS DOWN EXETER BY SINGLE TOUCHDOWN

CONLON SHINES ON OFFENSE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University second eleven on Saturday defeated Exeter in the final period of a hard-fought game at Exeter. A touchdown, and goal from touchdown by Hunneman, after a long drive down the field accounted for the only scores."

For the most part, in the first three periods the ball seesawed back and forth in the middle of the field, as neither eleven could gain consistently by rushing, and as the kicking was consistently poor on both teams. The seconds were only twice in a position to score in these periods. Once, in the second quarter, the ball was rushed in a number of fine runs by Conlon and Hunnemen, to Exeter's 15-yard line, where Exeter held and took the ball on downs. Shortly afterward Hunneman failed in an attempt for a field goal.

Hunneman Scores Decisive Points

In the fourth quarter, Coach Knox's men showed their superior team-play and power. After a series of rushes showing fine offensive strength, Hunneman carried the ball over the line for a touchdown and kicked the goal. The period ended with the ball in the seconds' possession on Exeter's 40-yard line. The summary:
