The competition for the Union Prize Essay which was recently announced by the Union management will be conducted under the following rules, agreed upon by the Library Committee:

1. Although the competition is open to members only, anyone can join the Union by paying the necessary fee.

2. A first and second prize of $100 and $50 respectively are to be awarded during the year 1920-21 for the best two essays on a subject of the author's own choosing submitted before February 15, 1921, at the desk in the Union Library.

3. The length of the essay must not exceed 2500 words and it must be legibly written or typewritten upon paper of good quality. The title-page of each manuscript must bear an assumed name, and the author must hand in, with his manuscript, a sealed letter, containing his true name.
