SOPHOMORES WON TRACK MEET

The Sophomore team easily won the Informal Track Carnival which was scheduled for last Thursday and Friday and was concluded yesterday afternoon. Many events, however, were postponed from the scheduled times because of bad weather. The score in points by classes is as follows: Sophomores, 41 1-3; Juniors, 29 1-3; Seniors, 26; Freshmen, 20 1-3. Because of the informality of the meet, many men did not enter events in which they undoubtedly could have placed, and the points won by individuals are not truly indicative of the real ability of the members of each class. W. Moore ocC., (accounted a Senior in scoring), showed up well in the sprints while C. G. Krogness '21, captain of the Freshman track team last year, placed first in three contests, winning both the hurdles and the high-jump. D. F. O'Connell '21 won the two races in which he ran, the 440-yard dash and the half-mile run. A summary of the carnival follows:

100-yard dash - Won by W. Moore ocC.; second, F. F. Williams '20; third, R. Chute '22.

220-yard dash - Won by W. Moore ocC.; second, R. Chute '22; third, P. E. Stevenson '20.

440-yard dash - Won by D. F. O'Connell '21; second, R. Chute '22; third, W. H. Goodwin '20.

880-yard run - Won by D. F. O'Connell '21; second, A. W. Douglass '21; third, W. H. Goodwin '21.

One-mile run - Won by G. F. Wason '20; second, B. Lewis '20; third, T. G. Ames '20.

Two-mile run - Won by J. D. Hutchinson '19; second, J. E. Nally '21; third, G. F. Wason '20.

High-jump - Won by C. G. Krogness '21; second, R. W. Harwood '20; third, R. Page '22.

Broad-jump - Won by H. C. Flower '19; second, C. G. Krogness '21; third, E. O. Gourdin '21.

120-yard hurdles - Won by C. G. Krogness '21; second, tied between F. Church '20 and C. R. Hauers '22.

220-yard hurdles - Won by C. G. Krogness '21; second, F. C. Church '20; third, C. R. Hauers '22.

Putting 16-1b. shot - Won by A. McElwain '21; second, G. A. Saxtion '22; third, G. M. Parker '19.

Throwing hammer- Won by A. Steven '19; second, J. F. Brown '22; third, A. McElwain '21.
